Let's talk bras

80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra

DID YOU KNOW YOU CAN GET FIT FOR A SPORTS BRA?

Our bra fit specialists work with you to provide the best solutions for you based on size, activity, and needs.  Here's a glimpse of our in-store fit process and how to measure your size:

1. Determine your band size by measuring the smallest distance above your bust. For odd numbers, round down.

2. Measure around the fullest part of your bust.

3. Determine the difference between the two measurements. Use the chart to match that number to the corresponding cup size.

GET MORE MILES OUT OF YOUR BRA

We want you to get the most of out your gear. A quality sports bra typically lasts about 1 year. Here are a few tips to help your bra go the distance.

1. Close the hook and eye, and any Velcro straps. Place in a lingerie bag.

2. Use detergent designed specifically for performance apparel.

3. Avoid fabric softener which can leave residues and inhibits moisture-wicking properties.

4. Wash in cold water on a delicate cycle.

5. Hang dry.

Feeling really dedicated? Hand wash your sports bra.

  • Women should be fit for a sports bra at least once a year, and especially after major weight loss or pregnancy
  • The average lifespan of a bra is 8-12 months
  • Not all bras are created equal

Wearing an ill-fitting or un-supportive bra puts significant strain on the Coopers Ligament. This ligament is the only connective tissue that supports the breasts. A good sports bra significantly reduces the stress load on the Coopers Ligament and promotes breast health!

That's why we carry Moving Comfort by Brooks. Bras designed by active women, for active women. Just like shoes, size and support requirements vary from person to person. Moving Comfort bras are sized like lingerie bras, no messing around with generic Small, Medium or Large. We have Fit Experts trained to help you discover the support and size that works best for you and a variety of styles and colors available.

Proper fit will provide you with the freedom to move and exercise with comfort and confidence.

We start our bra FIT process with questions about your activities and style preferences. Next, our female staff will take careful measurements and translate them into the correct size sports bra. Based on size and activity, we will select a few sports bras for you to try. Throughout the process we will offer tips and advice to help you reach your goals. Here are few things for you consider during the sports bra FIT process:

Comfort: A good sports bra should feel comfortable, should stay in place, and should not chafe. The straps should not dig into the shoulders. The band should be comfortably snug to offer support, but it should not feel restrictive. Do jumping jacks, run in place, and swing your arms from side to side to make sure that it feels comfortable and supportive when you're in motion.

Support: If you're either a small- or a medium-breasted woman (A to C cup), a compression bra will offer support and comfort. If you prefer, then you can choose a bra that offers encapsulation for shaping as well as support. If you're a large-breasted woman (C to FF cup), then encapsulating styles that separate and support your breasts are more comfortable and more supportive than compression bras. For maximum support, choose a sport bra that both compresses and encapsulates.

Moisture Control and Breathability: A good sports bra will wick sweat away from the skin, quickly dry, be breathable, and allow perspiration and excess heat to pass through it. It should keep you cool and dry when it's hot and keep you dry and warm when it's cold.
